Who we are

Nord Studio is the trading name of Ty Mason, a sole trader based in England. Nord Studio is not a registered company, and it is not a registered charity. Donations are received by Ty Mason personally and used to support the work described below.

Definitions

• We / us / Nord Studio: Ty Mason, trading as Nord Studio.
• Contributors: People who work on the Projects with us, whether paid or unpaid.
• Projects: The software and services published by Nord Studio.
• Donation: A one-time contribution made via Stripe, or a recurring contribution ("sponsorship") made via Liberapay.

Donations

By donating to support the development or maintenance of the Projects, you acknowledge and agree that:

1. Donations are given voluntarily and with no expectation of anything in return. A donation is not a purchase or an investment, buys no goods or services, and creates no customer or contractual relationship with us.

2. Donations are final and non-refundable. This holds whatever happens afterwards, including if a Project is modified, suspended, relicensed, transferred or discontinued, or if Nord Studio stops operating. You can cancel a recurring sponsorship at any time; doing so stops future payments but does not refund payments already taken.

3. A donation grants you no ownership, no stake in Nord Studio, no intellectual property rights, no say in how the Projects are run, and no other legal interest in the Projects or their source code. Your rights to the Projects remain those granted by their public licences.

4. Funds are used at our discretion to support development, maintenance and related running costs. We do not ring-fence donations for particular Projects, and we are not obliged to account for specific expenditure.

5. Neither we nor any Contributor is under any obligation to act on a suggestion, request or expectation put to us by a donor, unless separately agreed in writing. Donating gives a suggestion no added priority or weight. We consider it on its merit, as we would from anyone else.

Payments are processed by Stripe and Liberapay under their own terms, and we never receive or store your payment details. Donations are not tax-deductible.

The Projects are provided as-is under their respective open source licences. Those licences, not this page, govern your use of the software and set out the disclaimers of warranty and liability that apply to it.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published here when you donate is the one that applies to that donation. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
